My relationship with sailboats started in 1974 when I was 11 years old. That year a friend of my father invited us to go sailing on his Columbia 26. After a few day sails around the eastern part of Puerto Rico, my father decided to buy his own sailboat. His decision to purchase a 1975 Seafarer 22 is one that I will thank him for the rest of my life. This small McCurdy & Rhodes sailboat changed my life forever.
I sailed so much in the following years that I could recognize any boat that sailed in the area. Learned all their specs and even got to sail in a lot of different boats.
After many years of sailing and racing on friends boats, I started looking to purchase my first sailboat.I got frustrated with the lack of a good centralized and free source of information about sailboats where I could go for reference on my quest for the 'perfect' boat for my family.
This frustration is what fueled the creation of SailboatSpecs.com.
With that in mind I would like to dedicate this site to my father Antonio, to his friend Eugene, to all the wonderful people I've met while sailing, and to all the sailors out there who share the same passion for sailing that I do.
Please come visit often, tell your friends about our web site and if there is anything we can do to make this a better resource for sailors please let me know.
Happy Sailing! Tony

To reach the port of heaven, we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it, but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor. - Oliver Wendell Holmes |
